One of Cornwall’s brightest gems is lovely Porthcurno Bay, cupped between cliffs on the southern coast of the Penwith peninsula. Though the village itself is low-key, there are enough attractions in the area to merit a visit. The most unique sight is the famous open-air Minack Theatre, a magical place to take in some culture and entertainment. Below, the wedge of perfect sandy beach provides plenty of amusement by day, while the coast path to either side runs through a majestic landscape that is managed by the National Trust. Smaller beaches and a scattering of historical relics lie within a short clamber.
