bewitchingbritain: Ivy Cottage in the village of Lower Slaughter, Gloucestershire, which is part of the Cotswolds. Besides all the shabby chic/ gothic gypsy garden loveliness there is a MEDIEVAL DOOR with a knocker right in the centre!!! That door is very exciting to me in a disturbing sort of way.
Annyhoo, the name Lower Slaughter does not stem from a history of mass carnage in the village. It is thought to derive from either the Old English ‘slough’ (a wet land) or ‘slothre’ (a muddy place)
